Discovery via your library catalogue.
The library catalogue is the main route for discovery for library e-book content. We strongly recommended that the quality checked MARC records are imported into your library catalogue. Quality-checked MARC21 cataloguing records are freely available from your college ebrary partner website. Log in details for the admin portal are sent to you in your welcome letter.
Heritage Users: If you are a Heritage user and do not have the Heritage MARC import module, please visit http://www.heritagesupport.com/jisc-e-books for instructions.
If you use another Library Management system, e.g. Autolib, OLIB, and wish to download the MARC cataloguing records please complete the following steps:
1. Login to your ebrary partner site with the login details provided in your welcome letter
2. Click on the ‘get MARC records’ link
3. Under the All Marc Records header click the link ‘Download complete MARC record file’
4. When prompted, Save the file to your computer as required. (The MARC records include a unique URL to point users to each individual book title) Should you not wish to import all the MARC records for the collection you may MARC use a third party editor such as MARCedit to edit bibliographic records in large batches before the records are loaded into your library catalogues.
